BURNER UNIT, FIELD FEEDING
Year: 1996
Abstract: This specification covers a burner unit (stove) for use as the heat source for military field feeding equipment and field sanitation equipment (see 6.1). Intended Use: The stove is intended for use as the primary heat for military field feeding equipment. It provides heat for grilling, roasting, frying, boiling, sanitation, and baking. It can be expected that food, water, and grease will be spilled on the stove. Cleaning the stove will be required using commonly available cleaning solvents and scouring pads. It will be used in environmental conditions hot through basic. The unit will be ignited and operated inside tents, soft sided trailers (MKT), and soft sided expandable shelters. The unit will be exposed to, but will not be operated in, the rain. The stove may be transported on ground vehicles as unrestrained cargo. All maintenance required will be performed by the operator without any special tools. As much as practical, the operator will perform all repairs and replacement of components using no special tools.
