Abstract: PURPOSE. Coast Guard Investigative Service (CGIS) is the criminal investigative arm of the Coast Guard. As a cadre of dedicated criminal investigators, CGIS supports Coast Guard commanders by providing investigative support to operations, force protection, intelligence collection and maintenance of good order and discipline.
