Abstract: This specification covers auxiliary steam turbine and reduction gear (where used) for generator sets for Naval ships and submarines and includes couplings, and additional equipment, fittings and accessories. Propulsion generator turbines and gears are not included. Intended Use: This equipment is intended for service in Naval ships where it is expected to withstand continuous use for long periods, without benefit of overhaul. The equipment is vital; failure can result in serious interruption of ship and fleet operating schedules.
