Abstract: Volume B30.27, Material Placement Systems, includes provisions that apply to the construction, installation, operation, inspection, testing, and maintenance of trailer and truck-mounted material placement systems. Included in this are mechanical and hydraulic pea gravel systems, mobile telescoping boom conveyors, separate placing booms, and material placement accessories (see Figs. 27-0.1-1 through 27-0.1-4). Truck-mounted material placement systems can be either with or without an integral placing boom.
This Volume does not apply to the conveyor parts of mobile telescoping boom conveyors, mortar conveying and spraying machines, or dry mix shotcreting machines. The conveyor section of these machines is covered by ASME B20.1.
