Abstract: The aim of this publication is to outline the procedures and formats used in air reconnaissance operations in support of NATO. It is intended that the publication be used by subscribing nations as a reconnaissance handbook and a guide to the Air Reconnaissance Working Group (ARWG) STANAGS concerned with the requesting, planning and reporting of air reconnaissance. This is not a doctrinal document. Any doctrine within ATP 47(A) is a reflection of the high level document, ATP 61 (AJP 3.3.4.5). In addition, this publication contains reference data for use by the Imagery Analyst (IA).
