description abstract	PURPOSE The purpose of this document is to provide design guidance and concepts to protect aircraft crew and sub-systems in flight against the effects of electrostatic charge accumulation by: (a) considering electrostatic charge phenomena as a potential risk for aircraft crew and sub-systems in flight (b) designing the aircraft such that the aircraft crew and sub-systems are protected against the effects of electrostatic charge accumulation (c) making necessary arrangements for verifying and maintaining the efficacy of the protection. The agreement of nations to use AEP-29 is recorded in STANAG 3856.
