Mobile Station - Base Station Compatibility Standard

Abstract: These technical requirements form a compatibility standard for a cellular radio telecommunications system. Their purpose is to ensure that a mobile station can obtain service in any cellular system manufactured according to this standard. These requirements do not cover equipment performance or measurement procedures. These issues are addressed for the mobile and base station, respectively, in ANSI TIA5IA 690, Recommended Minimum Standard for 800MHz Cellular Subscriber Units and ANSI TIA5IA 712, Recommended Minimum Standard for 800 MHz Cellular Base Stations.
