Organization:
ARMY - AT - Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command
Year: 1997
Abstract: This specification establishes the design, performance, inspection, and acceptance requirements for the heat exchangers used in Nuclear Biological Chemical (NBC) system of the M1A1 and M1A2 tanks and its three major components: heat exchanger, condenser and precooler.
Heat exchanger for the NBC system of the M1A1 and M1A2 tanks consists of the following (see 3.6):
Beneficial comments (recommendations, additions, deletions) and any pertinent data which may be of use in improving this document should be addressed to: U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command, ATTN: AMSTA-TR-E/BLUE, Warren, MI 48397-5000, by using the Standardization Document Improvement Proposal (DD Form 1426) appearing at the end of this document, or by letter.
Intended Use: The three heat transfer components covered by this specification serve to cool and dry M1A1 and M1A2 tank engine bleed air for processing through the NBC system. Although the three units have different names, they are referred to herein by the generic term heat exchanger.
Heat exchanger for the NBC system of the M1A1 and M1A2 tanks consists of the following (see 3.6):
