Abstract: This standard establishes the requirements for exchanging manufacturing data between suppliers and their customers for electrical and electronic product. This standard applies to products, components, subproducts and materials that are supplied to producers of electrical and electronic components for incorporation into their products. It covers assembly materials and manufacturing data in order to facilitate and identify the process sensitivity of the products, components and subproducts. It does not apply to packing materials (e.g., cardboard, plastic tray, etc.).
The standard applies to business-to-business transactions. It is not intended to be used by the general public when making purchasing decisions.
Purpose
This standard is intended to benefit suppliers and their customers by providing consistency and efficiency to the manufacturing data declaration process. It establishes standard data exchange techniques and electronic data exchange formats that will facilitate and improve data transfer along the entire global supply chain.
