CONFIGURATION MANAGEMENT PLAN FOR GRAVITY PROBE-B (GP-B)

Abstract: This plan provides a systematic method to implement the policies and requirements of MPD 1280.1, Marshall Management Manual; MPG 8040.1, Configuration Management, MSFC Programs/Projects; and MWI 8040.1, Configuration Management Plan, MSFC Programs/Projects. This document applies to all Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) organizations engaged in the management or support of Gravity Probe-B (GP-B) activities.
PURPOSE. The purpose of this plan is to establish/define the areas of Configuration Management that are supported by the MSFC GP-B Program Office.
Due to contractual limitations, MSFC has a limited role in configuration control. MSFC does not participate in configuration identification, configuration accounting, or configuration verification. The scope of this plan includes GP-B program science requirements and changes affecting schedule, cost, and/or safety.
