MSFC-PLAN-3063

SD44 BIOTECHNOLOGY CARRIERS (BIC) PROJECT PLAN

Organization:
MSFC - NASA - MSFC - Marshall Space Flight Center
Year: 2005

Abstract: SCOPE/PURPOSE
This Project Plan is the principal document defining the management and implementation approach for the Biotechnology Carriers (BiC) Project. The BiC Project is established to manage and conduct activities related to flight and ground integration and operations, testing, hardware maintenance, sustaining engineering, and new carrier development for BiC hardware systems in support of science investigations for the Biotechnology Program at the Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC).
This Project Plan is published in response to and in accordance with the requirements of NPG 7120.5 NASA Program and Project Management Processes and Requirements and MPG 7120.1 Marshall Procedures and Guidelines for Program/Project Planning. The cited documents establish the program/project planning processes to be implemented for NASA/MSFC programs/projects that provide aerospace products or capabilities; i.e., provide space and aeronautics flight and ground systems, technologies and operations.
The BiC Project is established specifically to provide aerospace products and capabilities and is subject to the requirements defined in these documents.
The BiC Project is in scope for the International Standards Organization (ISO)-9000 processes at MSFC and all work accomplished on BiC hardware systems at MSFC will be done in accordance with ISO standards.
This Project Plan was prepared and is maintained in the Microgravity Projects Group (MPG) at MSFC. It will be updated through either change pages or complete revision, depending upon the magnitude of changes. Proposed changes to this Project Plan will be submitted to the MPG Data and Documentation Control Board (DDCB).
