X-34 & MC-1 ENGINE PROJECTS' CONFIGURATION MANAGEMENT PLAN
Organization:
MSFC - NASA - MSFC - Marshall Space Flight Center
Year: 2001
Abstract: INTRODUCTION
The X-34 and MC-1 Engine Projects Configuration Management (CM) Plan defines requirements, responsibilities, and procedures for the CM system applicable to the X-34 and MC-1 Engine project activities. This plan provides a systematic method to implement policies and requirements of MWI 8040.1, "Configuration Management Plan, Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) Programs/Projects." Implementation of this plan satisfies the intent of CM policies and requirements.
The scope of this plan includes hardware and software development, its integration into the X-34 Vehicle, other support hardware, and test facilities. The requirements and responsibilities apply to the X-34 and MC-l Engine contractors, MSFC, and other government/NASA facilities directly involved in the X-34 and MC-1 Engine Projects.
The plan\'s purpose is to implement a CM system which will meet the following objectives:
a. Identify and document the technical requirements of all Configuration Items (CI) and Computer Software Configuration Items (CSCI).
b. Control changes/deviations/waivers to these technical requirements.
c. Control interfaces among the CIs and CSCIs.
d. Verify performance, design, and configuration through design reviews.
e. Provide project management identification and baseline information for technical, cost and schedule.
