Abstract

This specification establishes requirements for humidity indicating, dehydrator plugs that are intended to protect aircraft engine cylinders and other similar equipment against corrosion due to moisture and to indicate through color change unsafe levels of humidity (see <a>6.1</a>). <br>Dehydrator plugs shall be of the following types, as specified (see <a>6.2</a>). </span><pre> Type I - Reusable. The type I plug is intended for use at field stations where facilities to reactivate the contained desiccant are available. The type II plug is intended for use when facilities to reactivate the contained desiccant are not available, or where it would be more convenient to refill the deactivated plug with fresh activated desiccant. The type II plug may be reactivated, if desired. Plugs are satisfactory for use when the total moisture content of the contained desiccant does not exceed 7.5 percent at the time the plug is placed in use. <br>
