Abstract

This handbook establishes standard design requirements and procedures, and identifies the configurations and applications of lighting systems on naval ships. <br>These criteria apply to new construction only when invoked by the Ship Specifications or similar contractual document. They may be considered in the conversion or alteration of existing ships as specified by the activity preparing the instructions for the work. Certain portions of the General Specifications for Ships have been reproduced in this handbook for coherence and clarity of the material presented herein; however, in the event of any conflict between this handbook and the General Specification for Ships, the latter shall govern.
