Abstract

<strong>Purpose</strong> <br>This document is intended to cover general and specific requirements relating to equipment and subsystems, guidance and requirements for development of a test program for all material characterised as electronic, electrical and electromechanical equipment, to be tested at the equipment and subsystems level. <br>General purpose is: <br>a. To state the overall test objectives for the validation of material design, within the electromagnetic environment. <br>b. To provide general guidance for management of a test program for the electrical/electromagnetic environment and to provide guidance in the selection of tests <br>c. To outline the necessary processes and products of the test program that includes test procedures, data collection and assessment to achieve acceptable assurance. <br>Specific purpose is: <br>To provide background information under the heading &apos;discussion&apos; for general requirements and applicability for detailed test requirements. This information includes rationale for requirements, guidance in applying the requirements, and lessons learned from platform and laboratory experience. This information should help users understand the intent behind the requirements. In addition it should aid the procuring activity in tailoring emission and susceptibility requirements as necessary for particular applications and help users develop detailed test procedures in the EMITP based on the general test procedures in this document. This background information is provided for guidance purposes and, as such, should not be interpreted as providing contractual requirements.
