description abstractThis specification covers the performance, test, manufacture and acceptance requirements for the engine air cleaner, referred to herein as the air cleaner, and the replaceable air filter element, referred to herein as the filter element. Unless indicated otherwise, references to the air cleaner can be understood to include the filter element. Intended Use: Air cleaners manufactured in accordance with this specification are intended for use on military tracked vehicles in the 500 HP A0, A1 and A2 Bradley Fighting Vehicle (BFV) Family. Air cleaner is military unique because it must withstand the dust conditions and the types of high shock and vibration that would be experienced on the battlefield, that exceed any commercial requirements.
