description abstract	INTRODUCTION This Standard presents a recommended plan for the implementation of authentication enhancements for use in the Wireless Radiotelephone Service. Its intent is to describe the authentication enhancements so that the manner in which a system implements them may remain reasonably consistent from system to system. The authentication enhancements include: • Count Update after Handoff • Obtaining subscriber profile before authentication on initial system access • Handling of suspicious call originations • Identify the Serving MSC when reporting the outcome of a requested authentication operation • Handling of authentication capable mobile stations when the home system is not authentication capable • Clarification and editorial correction of authentication procedures • Miscellaneous authentication enhancements
