| description abstract | INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE This document specifies the Forward Link Only Messaging Transport mechanism - a mechanism for low latency transport of short messages over the Forward Link Only air interface [1]. The Forward Link Only Messaging Transport (FMT) mechanism is intended for utilization by applications such as Emergency Alert Service (EMAS). This specification defines the protocol of the FMT mechanism. Specifications of applications that utilize the FMT are outside the scope of this specification. Chapter 1: An informative chapter describing the scope and the organization of the document. Chapter 2: A normative chapter defining compliance terminology, acronyms, definitions of terms, conventions for specifying data types, and references. Chapter 3: A normative chapter describing the Forward Link Only Messaging Transport mechanism. | |
