IPC/WHMA-A-620 kan anvendes som et selvstændigt dokument ved indkøb af produkter; dog specificerer den ikke hyppigheden af procesinspektion eller hyppigheden af slutproduktinspektion. Der er ikke angivet nogen begrænsning på antal procesindikatorer eller tilladte antal reparations/rework fejl. Information herom bør udvikles sammen med en plan for statistisk processtyring (se IPC-9191).
